Fireside Hearth & Home Donates $10,000 to Kentucky Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
July 19, 2007, Louisville, KY

Fireside Hearth & Home, the world's largest fireplace manufacturer, has donated $10,000 to Kentucky Habitat for Humanity, Inc. to help provide safe, decent and affordable homes, built in partnership with God's people in need.

Fred Umbriet, Division Manager for Fireside Hearth & Home Region 11, presented the check to Mary Shearer, executive director for Kentucky Habitat for Humanity. Inc. and Habitat board members Ashley Campbell and Dave White.

"What a generous gift. You don't know what a difference this will make", commented Ms Campbell. Mr. Umbreit remarked that Fireside Heath & Home has been donating to many different non-profit organizations throughout the Louisville community for many years. They are committed to making a difference.

The Fireside Hearth & Home donation will be used to help build safe, decent and affordable homes for low-income working families residing throughout Kentucky. A single mother, who earns as little as $12,000 annually, can suddenly realize her dream of becoming a first time homeowner through the Habitat partner family program. Habitat was chosen from among many organizations for this year's gift. "We really wanted to do something with Habitat this year and are glad we are able to help," said Mr. Umbreit.

To date, Habitat chapters throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky have provided over 1,500 safe, decent and affordable homes, housing over 6,000 adults and children, while investing over $82 million dollars in affordable housing for Kentucky.
