(An Apostle is someone who is sent on a mission) The idea of going out into the community to serve others, in the way that Jesus' apostles served those in need by sharing God's love, has attracted individuals in many churches. With Habitat for Humanity, 12 churches are charged with assisting in Habitat's mission to provide simple, decent and affordable homes for families in need. They are called out into the community to serve! KyHFH Statewide Conference is coming up on Nov. 9 and 10, 2007 in Louisville, KY. You won’t want to miss all the excitement! What’s Hot – From the State Support Office
Here are “lightbulbs” to ask yourself when strategically planning your next build: - Do we have donated property to build upon? - Do we have a family, which has a disabled or elderly member? - Do we have families at 60% or even 50% below AMI? - Are we located in Appalachia? - Are we considered rural? - Do we have potential families who are considered homeless? Remember –A family that lives with another is considered homeless for these grants. If you can answer yes to many of these questions – you may have a winning grant! How do I take advantage of this new service of the State Support Office?
We can help you determine when you have a winning grant – and decide when it is worhtwhile to make the application. For all information about upcoming grant opportunities, schedules and deadlines, please contact KyHFH Thanks to our Supporters of the Prison Partnership: Inmate Arts & Crafts Exhibition Thanks to the Kentucky Department of Corrections and Beargrass Christian Church for their partnership in making the first annual Inmate Arts & Crafts Exhibition such a tremendous success.
