CHURCH RELATIONS

Habitat for Humanity is a servant of the church that provides a concrete opportunity for people to put faith into action.

Please join with Habitat for Humanity as we build tangible evidence of God's loving care. Your talents, time and donations are needed to further this ministry.

WHAT IS AN APOSTLE'S BUILD ?

(An Apostle is someone who is sent on a mission)
In an Apostle's Build project, 12 churches or coalitions of churches come together to raise the money and proivde the labor and prayer support to build a Habitat home.

The idea of going out into the community to serve others, in the way that Jesus' apostles served those in need by sharing God's love, has attracted individuals in many churches.

With Habitat for Humanity, 12 churches are charged with assisting in Habitat's mission to provide simple, decent and affordable homes for families in need. They are called out into the community to serve!

GRANTS

What’s Hot – From the State Support Office

  • The State Support Office is now providing additional help with funding for Kentucky affiliates that want to build and expand capacity
  • New professional training and networking opportunities for affiliates -to keep you  up-to-date on ‘best practices’, policies and procedures of HFHI in keeping with the new Affiliate Standards of Excellence
  • New, broader and stronger channels of communication with our elected officials, both state and federal, to develop and improve accessibility and longevity on Affordable Housing legislation and issues.
  • Providing strategic leadership that strongly advocates the spirit and mission of Habitat throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Here are “lightbulbs” to ask yourself when strategically planning your next build:

-  Do we have donated property to build upon?

-  Do we have a family, which has a disabled or elderly member?

-  Do we have families at 60% or even 50% below AMI?

-  Are we located in Appalachia?

-  Are we considered rural?

-  Do we have potential families who are considered homeless?  Remember –A family that lives with another is considered homeless for these grants.

If you can answer yes to many of these questions – you may have a winning grant!

How do I take advantage of this new service of the State Support Office?

  • CALL MARY @ 502-896-1299 or email at- habitatforhum116@bellsouth.net

We can help you determine when you have a winning grant – and decide when it is worhtwhile to make the application.
